Gourdgeous

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 3, 2026

The short version:

Your pumpkin photos are sent to our AI providers to make your stencil, and we don't keep the original photos. We save the designs you make so you can find them later. We don't show ads, sell your data, or track you across other apps. You can delete your account anytime in the app.

Gourdgeous is an iPhone app operated by Jordan Bentley in Washington State, USA ("we," "us"). This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and the choices you have. If you have questions, email [email protected].

Information we collect

Your account

You sign in with Apple. Apple gives us a unique account identifier and, if you choose to share it, your email address (this may be a private relay address from Apple). We don't ask for your name or password.

Photos you choose to use

When you photograph a pumpkin or pick a photo to trace, the app shrinks the photo and sends it to our servers, which pass it to our AI providers to check the photo and create your stencil. We do not store your original photos. They are used only to make your design.

What you create

Purchases

Apple handles all payments. We never see your card or billing details. Apple sends us a transaction ID, the product you bought, and the date, so we can unlock what you paid for.

Abuse prevention

To keep free designs fair and stop misuse, we store a one-way scrambled ("hashed") version of your Apple account identifier, along with how many free designs and traces you've used, recent attempts, and any temporary restrictions. A hash can't be turned back into your Apple identifier.

Technical information

Our servers keep standard logs, like request times and error messages, to keep the app running and fix problems.

What we don't do

How we use your information

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run the app. They process information only to provide their service to us.

We may also share information if required by law, or to protect the safety of our users or the service.

How long we keep it

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, such as the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your information, or to object to certain uses. Email us and we'll respond within 30 days.

United Kingdom: we process your information to provide the service you asked for (contract) and, for abuse prevention and security, based on our legitimate interests. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Canada: you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).

Australia and New Zealand: you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) or the New Zealand Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).

Where your information is processed

Your information is processed in Canada and the United States, and our AI providers may process it in other countries. These countries may have different data protection laws than where you live.

Children

Gourdgeous isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. Pumpkin carving uses sharp tools, so younger carvers should always have an adult help. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we'll delete it.

Security

We use encryption in transit, private storage for your designs, and access controls so that only you can see your own designs. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes, we'll update the date at the top and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
